This is my family’s go-to chicken burger recipe. Lean ground chicken is a great alternative to beef as it is much lower in saturated fat (and therefore better for your cholesterol levels!). This recipe also works great with ground turkey. Enjoy!

Ingredients (makes 6 patties):

  • 2 lbs lean ground chicken
  • 1 zucchini, grated
  • 1 cup sweet potato, grated
  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, avocado, tomato, dill pickles, and your favourite condiments!

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl and form into patties.
  2. Patties can be cooked on the barbecue, or baked in a preheated (350F) oven (bake for 15 minutes, remove from the oven, flip, and bake for another 5-7 minutes).
  3. Serve with a side salad or raw veggies and your favourite veggie dip!
